# How can I know if my vehicle is compatible with CarPlay or Android Auto?

### CarPlay:

The vast majority of new vehicles sold since 2017/2018 are equipped with CarPlay, but compatibility may vary depending on the model and year.

**How do I know if my car is compatible?**
* Check the screen: If your vehicle is equipped with a built-in touchscreen for the infotainment system, it is highly likely that it is compatible.
* Consult the vehicle manual: The most reliable method is to check directly in the "Infotainment System" or "Connectivity" section of your user manual.
* Look for the logo: Look on the vehicle's home screen or on the USB port for a CarPlay logo or a smartphone/tablet icon symbol.
* Visit the Apple site: Apple regularly updates an official list of compatible vehicle models on its website.

### Android Auto:

The simplest way to check compatibility is to:
* Check the Android version in your phone settings (Settings > About phone). We support Android 9.0 and later versions.
* Attempt to download the "Android Auto" app from the Play Store (if you are on a version prior to Android 9.0). If the app appears and can be installed, the phone is compatible.

Although less frequent, certain hardware requirements may be necessary, notably:
* A high-quality USB cable that is capable of transferring data and not just charging the device.
* A good network connection (4G/5G) for the initial setup and for the use of apps that require data.
